Research Engineer -- video system solutions (2)

Responsibilities
-    Conducting research on the perfomance enhancement of Thomson end-to-end v
ideo system solutions, such as mobile TV, IPTV and Internet video applications

-    Applying innovative research outputs to Thomson video system solutions th
rough architecture design and prove of concept prototyping.
-    Contributing to standardization bodies in multimedia communication fields


Education & Skills
-    MS or Ph.D. degree in EE or CS
-    2+ year industrial experiences in multimedia and/or wireless communicatio
ns
-    Hands on experiences in software engineering and development in multimeid
a communication fields
-    Knowledge of audio / video processing technology is a plus
-    Knowledge of Internet application development is a plus
-    Team worker and project management experience preferred
-    Good English and communication skills required 

Software and Systems Engineer – video system development (2-3)

Responsibilities
-    Software development and system integration for multimedia delivery over 
various broadband networks
-    Create system level demonstrations targeted towards showcasing Thomson's 
end-to-end video chain expertise. 
-    Work closely with business units to choose specific components to achieve
 system integration

Education & Skills
-    BS or MS degree in Engineering
-    Experienced in software development in multimedia communication fields.
-    Experience in software architecture design, C++ and objective oriented pr
ogramming, analyze/design/debug objective oriented applications for multimedia
 applicatioons
-    Have knowledge and skills in developing software in multi-platform enviro
nment: WinCE, Linux and Windows OS. 
-    Code optimization and multithreaded programming skill are preferred
-    Good communication skill in English is a plus.
JAVA/J2EE Engineer – web application development (2)
Responsibilities
-    Application development in the demonstration system of Thomson video syst
em solutions. 
-    Interaction with business unit and/or customers to design and improve vid
eo application over various access networks   
Education and Skills
-    BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
-    Expertise in Java programming
-    Have rich development working experience (> 2 years) in j2EE application 
(include JSP, servlet, EJB etc.)
-    Good at Object Oriented Analysis and Design, familiar with UML
-    Be familiar with J2EE design mode, working experience in Struts is requir
ed.
-    Good knowledge in WebSphere and/or Weblogic application server 
-    Good knowledge in XML
-    Good knowledge on database system such as Oracle
-    Knowledge of video and/or mobile communication is a plus
-    Strong ability to communication, teamwork and learning
-    Good written/spoken English

Security Research Engineer – Content protection solutions (2)

Responsibilities

-    Conducting research on DRM solution for Thomson end-to-end video systems,
 such as mobile TV, IPTV and Internet video applications
-    Applying innovative research outputs to Thomson video system solutions th
rough architecture design and prove of concept prototyping.
-    Participating and contributing to China DRM standardization bodies

Education & Skills

-    MS / Ph.D. in EE, CS or equivalent, Ph.D. is preferred.
-    Interest and enthusiasm in content security.
-    Basic programming skills in C/C++ for prove of concept simulation and pro
totyping 
-    Detailed knowledge of network protocols relating to multimedia delivery o
r MPEG-2 /MPEG-4 System.
-    General knowledge of audiovisual compression technologies.
-    Familiar with state-of-the-art security & content protection technologies
. 
Ability to identify research directions for content security
-    Standardization activity experience is a plus
-    Good communication skills in both English and Chinese.
-    Good team spirit and self-starter.

Security Software Engineer – Content protection solutions (2)

Responsibilities
