Media Communication Group aims to develop applications and services to advance
 
 communication and collaboration among various platforms and under different n
 
etwork conditions. 
Researchers in the Media Communication Group leverage their expertise in audio
 
/video compression, image processing, networking, user interface, and database
 
 management to develop practical applications and services for both consumers 
 
and information workers. The group's research is used across the realm of comm
 
unications applications including instant messaging, VoIP, video conferencing,
 
 Push-To-Talk, video streaming, broadcasting, and blogging. The group's innova
 
tions have made an impact on a number of Microsoft products and technologies. 


Roles & Responsibilities： 
We are recruiting interns to work on an innovative and challenging software pr
 
oject. 
Required Qualifications：We are looking for 
Position 1： 
1. Ph.D or M.Sc candidate. We need your advisor's signing to permit him/her to
 
 be a vs of MSRA. 
2. Full-time. This is a three-month full-time internship, which may be extende
 
d based on project needs. 
3. Research or development background in networking or multimedia. Being famil
 
iar with TCP/IP, network simulation experience is a plus. 
4. Solid C/C++ programming skill. Experience with socket programming, thread p
 
rogramming is a plus. 
5. Good oral and written English. 
Position 2： 
1.    Solid mathematic background; 
2.    Strong programming skill, especially in networking; 
3.    Experience on network simulation will be plus; 
4.    Master or doctoral student.
