seek.  As required, I am enclosing a check for $15, my transfer
application, a copy of my passport, a copy of my unviversity/high
school record and degree statement, a copy of the immunization
record, and the bank statements.  I have already requested that
Independence Community College send a copy of my transcript to
you.  I also requested the TOEFL center to send my TOEFL score to
you.  Hopefully, you will receive them very quickllly.  Since I
demonstrate the score of my TOEFL which is reach the requirement,
I wish you will accept me.

     Thank you very much for your valuable time.  I hope to see
you soon on campus at Winona State University.

Next two are the letter talking about myself.  Usually, they require about
two pages.

     My name is Andrew Huang.  I am from Taiwan and came to the
United States in 1990.  Wichita, Kansas, where was the place when
I first arrived.  I transferred to Winona State University from
Kansas last year.

     My major is computer science but I never believe it will
have the end for study and education.  I love to study and learn
something new.  It will not stop even I graduate and start
working.  I agree and feel that it is not easy to study at
university in the United States.  But I always remember that the
teacher who taught me in senior high school once gave an story of
cone to the class, "Study is just like the cone.  You may spend
six hours for a chapter as you are on the bottom of the cone.
Laster, you may just need three hours to study it again as you
are on the middle of cone.  Finally, all you need is to take
about five minutes to review the chapter before the test as you
are on the top of cone."  I confess my English is not good
enough.  But, I believe the more I study and give the chance to
myself anytime, anywhere, the more English skill I can improve.

     Working is always my wish even I have no working experience
at all.  That is kind of disappointed when there is nowhere to
try and prove what I learn in the school.  I like to work and
wish to work if I have chance.  I love to be a computer
programmer.  The best day in the school is to get a hard program
solved.

     I was a leader of almost any position in the class during my
school years in Taiwan.  It was not so difficult for me to
control about 50 students in the class especially the backer was
the teacher and I knew all of classmates.  The most and
unforgivable position for me was to be an emcee in the school in
eleventh grade.  Unlike controlling a small class, it was really
scared me every week in front of thousands of students for the
weekly meeting of the school for a year.  Of course, it really
gave an unforgivable experience to me.  I love that work but I
don't think that I would like to do it again.

     I never attend any program in the United States.  I think
this will be a good opportunity for me to learn and know the
different points of view from the different culture in business
field.  The program will also help me knowing people.  However I
believe that it will give a perfect chance to me to combine what
I learn in the class and the real world together.  I expect to be
selected as a MECA student.

   The steps for applying the school are,

1.Prepare for GRE(GMAT) and TOEFL and look for the school.

ps : There is a refernece book in library called,
"Peterson's graduate program - 6 books".  It is renewed
yearly.  They list all the info you need and want to know.
a) write down all the schools you like and want to go.
b) compare the scholarship program, price, GRE score, TOEFL
   score and so on, cutting some schools off.
c) send the letters to ask more info.
d) make the fianl decision.

ps : Be sure that you reach the school requirements of GRE(
GMAT) and TOEFL!  Even they will still issue the I-20 to
you but You will be forced to study Engilsh in US if you
don't reach the requirements.  THIS IS TRUE.

2.After that, check for the school letters and perpare all
the info that school needs, such as bank statement....

Application fee - you may go bank and buy the travel check.
immunization report - if you don't have any prove, you can
go to hospital and do it one more time(don't forget
to get the prove).  Or you can just ignore until you
come here and ask school about this but, usually,
they will just tell you to do it one more time.
recommedation - you can ask the school professors or
instructors to do it for you.  They probably have a
copy of this on file, they usually make some change
and print it out.  It is not that hard for them.

3.Send it and wait for the news.  Usually, I apply about 3
schools.

4.After they accept you, you can go to do visa and ready to
come here.

I saw and knew the agents usually have the contract with school.
A school officor even told me if I can get one student, they will pay me
US$1,000.  I spent about NT$3,000 only for applying the school, mailed 23
schools for info and application fee(US$15, US$20 and US$30 for three
schools), copying the info, making the bank statements and so on.  I did the
immunization after I came here.

Really, it is not that difficult to apply a school as you think.
The hard part is getting started because we don't know where we should go.
So many school to choose from!  I finally decide to come to Winona State U.,
Minn because we just have 9 Taiwanese here.  I can almost speak Englsih all
the time.
