你好，我现在的工作也与此有关，五们计划为新加坡旅游促进局运行在DEC上的基于oracle
7 的信息系统建立http server.so every travel agent can access and update it
through internet depending on his id and password., we intend to use NT  www
server,because oracle has his own product - oracle web server to create the
server and provide the link between database and CGI, but i am not sure is it
provide the programming interface for PERL, i think java is not so critival
for us, the travel agent just submit his information through form in our
html,and our cgi can process it and give him the correct reponse.the jdbc is
not so good in security., what do you think about it?           
so can you tell me what is you thesis conceptual diagram,which http server
software do you choose and which is the gateway between oracle and httpserver
i know odbc is the sql interface but i concern the gateway software.what are
you doing use vb?just retreive data and store to a file?and how about the
interface between cgi and vb?or you use vb for cgi,how come?

thanks for your concerns. i just come back from the meeting of this project,
you give me a lot of suggestions,but now we decide to install oracle web
server on Sun ultra server.i think wincgi+vb is quite good for 32-bit pc
system,but we cannot use it now,another problem is about the PERL and oracle  
PL/SQL, yes PL/SQL is very powerful language between the oracle database and
dynamic HTML, it provide seamless interface of them, i mean is it just for
oracle,right?
we want do something common, or migration easily.so PERL is good for it,the
PERL 5 can support the standard SQL language to access a few kinds of database
next week we will start this project,maybe after 3 months,this one should be
launched.at that time, i will give you address of www,then continue send
feedback to me . OK?
by the way, which department are you in?and what is your status now,
undergraduate or postgraduate?are you finding some job?give me youself's
