bout Event-Driven Programming

Oracle Forms supports an event-driven programming model. Once you have defined the
basic structure and functionality of your application by creating objects and setting properties,
you can extend and enhance its default functionality by writing code.

The code you write in Oracle Forms is written in PL/SQL, Oracle's procedural language
extension to SQL, the relational database language. PL/SQL combines the data manipulation
and transaction processing capabilities of SQL with constructs typically found in procedural
programming languages, such as variable and constant declarations, assignment, looping,
and conditional branching. The PL/SQL language is documented in the PL/SQL User's Guide
and Reference.

Oracle Forms includes an integrated, interactive debugging environment that allows you to
monitor and interrupt program execution, step through code, and examine and set variable
values.
