How do you network Linux with Win95 or NT.  I have them on the same
ethernet and can telnet or ftp from 95 or NT but cannot "see" my Linux box
from the Windows "network neighborhood.

I am very new to Linux ( as if you could not tell).  If this question is
covered elsewhere just send me off to it.

You need to install Samba, a SMB (aka. LANmanager, WfWg, CIFS) server
for Unix/Linux. See http://samba.anu.edu.au for more info.

In order to "see" your linux box in network neighborhood, you have to be
running samba or IPX on the linux box.   What distribution of linux did
you load?  i.e. RedHat,Slackware,Debian, etc...

RedHat5.0 loads and starts samba, but you have to edit the /etc/smb.conf
to reflect your real settings.

The documentation is pretty straight forward, if you can't figure it out
on your own, send me a copy of your smb.conf, as well as information about
your network, like ip addresses, and I'll help you with it.
