NTRecover is an advanced Windows NT dead-system recovery utility for 
NT installations.
Using NTRecover, NT machines that fail to boot - due to data corruption,
 improperly installed software or hardware, or faulty configuration - 
can be accessed and recovered using standard administrative tools, as if
 the machine was up and running.
Using an adjacent NT-based computer connected by a serial cable, 
NTRecover allows an administrator to: 
* Copy files between the non-booting system and the working NT system. 

* Edit or delete files that may be preventing the system from booting. 

* Run virus detection and removal programs. 
* Repair damaged file system structures using chkdsk. 
* When used in conjunction with Winternals Software's Locksmith, 
NTRecover allows you to bypass the NT security system and replace lost 
or forgotten administrative passwords.
