MSC.visualNastran 4D helps you improve design quality
by determining the motion and structural characteristics
of you design before making and testing physical prototypes.
Tailored for use by designers and design engineers,
MSC.visualNastran 4D gives you the ability to accept
geometry from virtually every CAD system.
Once you have imported your geometry, MSC.visualNastran 4D
helps you put your design in motion to size motors and
bearings, determine interferences & collisions and calculate
joint loads. With your calculated forces, you can determine
the stresses; vibration modes, buckling and heat transfer
characteristics throughout your entire assembly.
The 2004 release of the MSC.visualNastran Desktop products
includes several new features and enhancements:
- Simulation Sound: Specify a sound, or sounds, as a property
of a body, to be played when certain simulation events
occur or conditions are present. For instance, a collision
will generate realistic contact sounds based upon the
physical characteristics of the collision. A moving body
can exhibit audible air resistance or a vehicle in motion
can be associated with an engine sound. Using the formula
language, you can even specify the sound source and observer
so Doppler effects can be demonstrated.
- Isosurfaces: You can now display an isosurface of the FEA
results on a body. The isosurface displays only the contours
that correspond to a specified value. This enables you to
quickly find the regions on a body that have high levels of
stress, displacement, or any other FEA result quantity.
- FEA Result Formulas: Using MSC.visualNastran Desktop's rich
formula language, you can now reference meters that measure
FEA results (such as stress or deflection). These results
can then be manipulated and transformed within other
expressions and viewed over time in meters. This new feature
offers many new possibilities, and allows you to more fully
leverage MSC.visualNastran Desktop's integrated FEA and
motion environment.
- Inventor Integration: MSC.visualNastran Desktop is compatible
with Inventor 7 and 8.
- Solid Edge Integration: MSC.visualNastran Desktop is
compatible with Solid Edge 14 and 15.
- SolidWorks Integration: MSC.visualNastran Desktop is
compatible with SolidWorks 2003 and 2004.
- Pro/ENGINEER Integration: MSC.visualNastran Desktop is
compatible with ProE 2001 and Wildfire.
- MATLAB/Simulink Integration: MSC.visualNastran Desktop is
compatible with Release 13 (SP0 and SP1).
