宁为小人之所骂，毋为君子之所鄙；宁为盲主司之所摈弃，毋为诸名宿之所不知。
若金曰：不为小人所骂便是乡愚，若为君子所鄙断非佳生。

I would rather be criticized by the rabble than despised by a gentleman,and
rather fail at the imperial examinations than be unknown to great scholars.
Jochin:Not to be criticized by the common herd is to be one of them,and a man
despised by a gentleman cannot be a "fine scholar".
