第四章                           CHAPTER 4
  1 有一日、那人和他妻子夏娃同房   1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she
、夏娃就怀孕、生了该隐、〔就是得 conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have

  2 又生了该隐的兄弟亚伯。亚伯是   2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And
牧羊的．该隐是种地的。           Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a
                                 tiller of the ground.
  3 有一日、该隐拿地里的出产为供   3 And in process of time it came to pass,
物献给耶和华．                   that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an
                                 offering unto the LORD.
  4 亚伯也将他羊群中头生的、和羊   4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings
的脂油献上．耶和华看中了亚伯和他 of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the
的供物．                         LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
  5 只是看不中该隐和他的供物．该   5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had
隐就大大的发怒、变了脸色。       not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his
                                 countenance fell.
  6 耶和华对该隐说、你为甚麽发怒   6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou
呢、你为甚麽变了脸色呢．         wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
  7 你若行得好、岂不蒙悦纳、你若   7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be
行得不好、罪就伏在门前．他必恋慕 accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth
你、你却要制伏他。               at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire,
                                 and thou shalt rule over him.
  8 该隐与他兄弟亚伯说话、二人正   8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and
在田间、该隐起来打他兄弟亚伯、把 it came to pass, when they were in the field,
他杀了。                         that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and

  9 耶和华对该隐说、你兄弟亚伯在   9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel

 10 耶和华说、你作了甚麽事呢、你  10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice
兄弟的血、有声音从地里向我哀告。 of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the

 11 地开了口、从你手里接受你兄弟  11 And now art thou cursed from the earth,
的血．现在你必从这地受咒诅。     which hath opened her mouth to receive thy
                                 brother's blood from thy hand;
 12 你种地、地不再给你效力．你必  12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not
流离飘荡在地上。                 henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a
                                 fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the
                                 earth.
 13 该隐对耶和华说、我的刑罚太重  13 And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment
、过於我所能当的。               is greater than I can bear.
 14 你如今赶逐我离开这地、以致不  14 Behold, thou hast driven me out this day
见你面．我必流离飘荡在地上、凡遇 from the face of the earth; and from thy face
见我的必杀我。                   shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a
                                 vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to
                                 pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay
                                 me.
 15 耶和华对他说、凡杀该隐的必遭  15 And the LORD said unto him, Therefore
报七倍。耶和华就给该隐立一个记号 whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be
、免得人遇见他就杀他。           taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark
                                 upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill
                                 him.
 16 於是该隐离开耶和华的面、去住  16 And Cain went out from the presence of the

 17 该隐与妻子同房、他妻子就怀孕  17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived,
、生了以诺、该隐建造了一座城、就 and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and
按著他儿子的名将那城叫作以诺。   called the name of the city, after the name of
                                 his son, Enoch.
 18 以诺生以拿、以拿生米户雅利、  18 And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad
米户雅利生玛土撒利、玛土撒利生拉 begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methusael:

 19 拉麦娶了两个妻、一个名叫亚大  19 And Lamech took unto him two wives: the

 20 亚大生雅八、雅八就是住帐棚牧  20 And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of
养牲畜之人的祖师。               such as dwell in tents, and of such as have
                                 cattle.
 21 雅八的兄弟名叫犹八．他是一切  21 And his brother's name was Jubal: he was
弹琴吹箫之人的祖师。             the father of all such as handle the harp and
                                 organ.
 22 洗拉又生了土八该隐、他是打造  22 And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an
各样铜铁利器的、〔或作是铜匠铁匠 instructer of every artificer in brass and
的祖师〕土八该隐的妹子是拿玛。   iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah.
 23 拉麦对他两个妻子说、亚大、洗  23 And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and
拉、听我的声音、拉麦的妻子细听我 Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech,
的话语、壮年人伤我、我把他杀了、 hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man
少年人损我、我把他害了．〔或作我 to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt.
杀壮士却伤自己我害幼童却损本身〕
 24 若杀该隐、遭报七倍、杀拉麦、  24 If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly
必遭报七十七倍。                 Lamech seventy and sevenfold.
 25 亚当又与妻子同房、他就生了一  25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare
个儿子、起名叫塞特、意思说、　神 a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said
另给我立了一个儿子代替亚伯、因为 she, hath appointed me another seed instead of
该隐杀了他。                     Abel, whom Cain slew.
 26 塞特也生了一个儿子、起名叫以  26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a
挪士。那时候人□求告耶和华的名。 son; and he called his name Enos: then began
                                 men to call upon the name of the LORD.
