第二十五章                       CHAPTER 25
  1 亚伯拉罕又娶了一妻、名叫基土   1 Then again Abraham took a wife, and her

  2 基土拉给他生了心兰、约珊、米   2 And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and

  5 亚伯拉罕将一切所有的都给了以   5 And Abraham gave all that he had unto

  6 亚伯拉罕把财物分给他庶出的众   6 But unto the sons of the concubines, which

  8 亚伯拉罕寿高年迈、气绝而死、   8 Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in

 11 亚伯拉罕死了以後、　神赐福给  11 And it came to pass after the death of

 12 撒拉的使女埃及人夏甲、给亚伯  12 Now these are the generations of Ishmael,

 13 以实玛利儿子们的名字、按著他  13 And these are the names of the sons of

 16 这是以实玛利众子的名字、照著  16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these

或作我为甚麽如此呢〕他就去求问耶 And she went to enquire of the LORD.

 23 耶和华对他说、两国在你腹内、  23 And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are
两族要从你身上出来、这族必强於那 in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be
族、将来大的要服事小的。         separated from thy bowels; and the one people
                                 shall be stronger than the other people; and
                                 the elder shall serve the younger.
 24 生产的日子到了、腹中果然是双  24 And when her days to be delivered were

 25 先产的身体发红、浑身有毛、如  25 And the first came out red, all over like
同皮衣．他们就给他起名叫以扫。〔 an hairy garment; and they called his name

 26 随後又生了以扫的兄弟、手抓住  26 And after that came his brother out, and
以扫的脚跟、因此给他起名叫雅各。 his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name
〔雅各就是抓住的意思〕利百加生下 was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore
两个儿子的时候、以撒年正六十岁。 years old when she bare them.
 27 两个孩子渐渐长大、以扫善於打  27 And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning
猎、常在田野．雅各为人安静、常住 hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a

 28 以撒爱以扫、因为常□他的野味  28 And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of

 29 有一天、雅各熬汤、以扫从田野  29 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from

 30 以扫对雅各说、我累昏了、求你  30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray

 31 雅各说、你今日把长子的名分卖  31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy

 32 以扫说、我将要死、这长子的名  32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to
分於我有甚麽益处呢。             die: and what profit shall this birthright do
                                 to me?
 33 雅各说、你今日对我起誓罢．以  33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and
扫就对他起了誓、把长子的名分卖给 he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright
雅各。                           unto Jacob.
 34 於是雅各将饼和红豆汤给了以扫  34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of
、以扫□了喝了、便起来走了．这就 lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose
是以扫轻看了他长子的名分。       up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his
                                 birthright.
