第三十四章                       CHAPTER 34
  1 利亚给雅各所生的女儿底拿出去   1 And Dinah the daughter of Leah, which she
、要见那地的女子们。             bare unto Jacob, went out to see the daughters
                                 of the land.
  2 那地的主希未人、哈抹的儿子示   2 And when Shechem the son of Hamor the
剑、看见他、就拉住他、与他行淫、 Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took
玷辱他。                         her, and lay with her, and defiled her.
  3 示剑的心系恋雅各的女儿底拿、   3 And his soul clave unto Dinah the daughter
喜爱这女子、甜言蜜语的安慰他。   of Jacob, and he loved the damsel, and spake
                                 kindly unto the damsel.
  4 示剑对他父亲哈抹说、求你为我   4 And Shechem spake unto his father Hamor,
聘这女子为妻。                   saying, Get me this damsel to wife.
  5 雅各听见示剑玷污了他的女儿底   5 And Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah
拿．那时他的儿子们正和群畜在田野 his daughter: now his sons were with his cattle
、雅各就闭口不言、等他们回来。   in the field: and Jacob held his peace until
                                 they were come.
  6 示剑的父亲哈抹出来见雅各、要   6 And Hamor the father of Shechem went out
和他商议。                       unto Jacob to commune with him.
  7 雅各的儿子们听见这事、就从田   7 And the sons of Jacob came out of the field
野回来、人人忿恨、十分恼怒、因示 when they heard it: and the men were grieved,
剑在以色列家作了丑事、与雅各的女 and they were very wroth, because he had
儿行淫、这本是不该作的事。       wrought folly in Israel in lying with Jacob's
                                 daughter: which thing ought not to be done.
  8 哈抹和他们商议说、我儿子示剑   8 And Hamor communed with them, saying, The
的心恋慕这女子、求你们将他给我的 soul of my son Shechem longeth for your
儿子为妻。                       daughter: I pray you give her him to wife.
  9 你们与我们彼此结亲、你们可以   9 And make ye marriages with us, and give
把女儿给我们、也可以娶我们的女儿 your daughters unto us, and take our daughters
。                               unto you.
 10 你们与我们同住罢、这地都在你  10 And ye shall dwell with us: and the land
们面前、只管在此居住、作买卖、置 shall be before you; dwell and trade ye
产业。                           therein, and get you possessions therein.
 11 示剑对女儿的父亲和弟兄们说、  11 And Shechem said unto her father and unto
但愿我在你们眼前蒙恩．你们向我要 her brethren, Let me find grace in your eyes,
甚麽我必给你们。                 and what ye shall say unto me I will give.
 12 任凭向我要多重的聘金和礼物、  12 Ask me never so much dowry and gift, and I
我必照你们所说的给你们、只要把女 will give according as ye shall say unto me:
子给我为妻。                     but give me the damsel to wife.
 13 雅各的儿子们、因为示剑玷污了  13 And the sons of Jacob answered Shechem and
他们的妹子底拿、就用诡诈的话回答 Hamor his father deceitfully, and said, because
示剑、和他父亲哈抹．             he had defiled Dinah their sister:
 14 对他们说、我们不能把我们的妹  14 And they said unto them, We cannot do this
子给没有受割礼的人为妻、因为那是 thing, to give our sister to one that is
我们的羞辱．                     uncircumcised; for that were a reproach unto
                                 us:
 15 惟有一件□可以应允、若你们所  15 But in this will we consent unto you: If ye
有的男丁都受割礼、和我们一样、   will be as we be, that every male of you be
                                 circumcised;
 16 我们就把女儿给你们、也娶你们  16 Then will we give our daughters unto you,
的女儿、我们便与你们同住、两下成 and we will take your daughters to us, and we
为一样的人民。                   will dwell with you, and we will become one
                                 people.
 17 倘若你们不听从我们受割礼、我  17 But if ye will not hearken unto us, to be
们就带著妹子走了。               circumcised; then will we take our daughter,
                                 and we will be gone.
 18 哈抹和他的儿子示剑喜欢这话。  18 And their words pleased Hamor, and Shechem
                                 Hamor's son.
 19 那少年人作这事并不迟延、因为  19 And the young man deferred not to do the
他喜爱雅各的女儿．他在他父亲家中 thing, because he had delight in Jacob's
也是人最尊重的。                 daughter: and he was more honourable than all
                                 the house of his father.
 20 哈抹和他儿子示剑到本城的门口  20 And Hamor and Shechem his son came unto the
、对本城的人说、                 gate of their city, and communed with the men
                                 of their city, saying,
 21 这些人与我们和睦、不如许他们  21 These men are peaceable with us; therefore
在这地居住作买卖．这地也宽阔、足 let them dwell in the land, and trade therein;
可容下他们、我们可以娶他们的女儿 for the land, behold, it is large enough for
为妻、也可以把我们的女儿嫁给他们 them; let us take their daughters to us for
。                               wives, and let us give them our daughters.
 22 惟有一件事我们必须作、他们□  22 Only herein will the men consent unto us
肯应允、和我们同住、成为一样的人 for to dwell with us, to be one people, if
民、就是我们中间所有的男丁、都要 every male among us be circumcised, as they are
受割礼、和他们一样。             circumcised.
 23 他们的群畜、货财、和一切的牲  23 Shall not their cattle and their substance
口、岂不都归我们麽．只要依从他们 and every beast of their's be our's? only let
、他们就与我们同住。             us consent unto them, and they will dwell with
                                 us.
 24 凡从城门出入的人、就都听从哈  24 And unto Hamor and unto Shechem his son
抹和他儿子示剑的话、於是凡从城门 hearkened all that went out of the gate of his
出入的男丁、都受了割礼。         city; and every male was circumcised, all that
                                 went out of the gate of his city.
 25 到第三天、众人正在疼痛的时候  25 And it came to pass on the third day, when
、雅各的两个儿子、就是底拿的哥哥 they were sore, that two of the sons of Jacob,
、西缅和利未、各拿刀剑、趁著众人 Simeon and Levi, Dinah's brethren, took each
想不到的时候、来到城中、把一切男 man his sword, and came upon the city boldly,
丁都杀了。                       and slew all the males.
 26 又用刀杀了哈抹和他儿子示剑、  26 And they slew Hamor and Shechem his son
把底拿从示剑家里带出来、就走了。 with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah out
                                 of Shechem's house, and went out.
 27 雅各的儿子们因为他们的妹子受  27 The sons of Jacob came upon the slain, and
了玷污、就来到被杀的人那里、掳掠 spoiled the city, because they had defiled
那城、                           their sister.
 28 夺了他们的羊群、牛群、和驴、  28 They took their sheep, and their oxen, and
并城里田间所有的．               their asses, and that which was in the city,
                                 and that which was in the field,
 29 又把他们一切货财、孩子、妇女  29 And all their wealth, and all their little
、并各房中所有的、都掳掠去了。   ones, and their wives took they captive, and
                                 spoiled even all that was in the house.
 30 雅各对西缅和利未说、你们连累  30 And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, Ye have
我、使我在这地的居民中、就是在迦 troubled me to make me to stink among the
南人、和比利洗人中、有了臭名、我 inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites
的人丁既然稀少、他们必聚集来击杀 and the Perizzites: and I being few in number,
我、我和全家的人、都必灭绝。     they shall gather themselves together against
                                 me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I
                                 and my house.
 31 他们说、他岂可待我们的妹子如  31 And they said, Should he deal with our
同妓女麽。                       sister as with an harlot?
