                Autumn
                        Thomas Ernest Hulme
        A touch of cold in the Autumn night--
        I walked abroad,
        And saw the ruddy moon lean over a hedge
        Like a red-faced farmer.
        I did not stop to speak, but nodded,
        And round about were the wistfull stars
        With white faces like town children.

        [简析] 
          Thomas Ernest Hulme (1883-1917)--英国诗人，
        意象派诗歌创始人之一。
          在本诗中，诗人选择了秋夜这一特定环境，但并
        未具体勾画秋夜的景致。只是用两个比喻形成对比，
        烘托了自己当时的心境。
