        英语打油诗(limerick),是喜剧或滑稽诗的一种形式.它通常以

        "There was a ....."开头.打油诗一共五行,三行长的(第一二

        句和第五句)一个韵,两行短的(第三四句)另一个韵.英语中这样

        的打油诗很多,其中以爱德华.李尔(Edward Lear,1812---1888)

        写的最为有名.下面选一首,供大家欣赏.

        Who smiled as she rode on a tiger.

        They returned from the ride

        With the lady inside,

        And a smile on the face of the tiger.
