The whereabouts of Osama bin Laden is not yet known, said Kenton Keith, spok
esman of the Coalition against terrorism in Islamabad on Wednesday afternoon
.
Keith made the remarks while responding to a question at a Coalition Informa
tion Service briefing.
"It is conceivable that he has escaped and it is also conceivable that he is
 in Afghanistan in the same region. It is not easy to cover all that territo
ry," he said.
He said Osama and Mullah Omar are still at large and on the run but they wil
l be found.
Keith said the Al-Qaida as a viable military organization in Afghanistan is 
finished but it is still capable of striking the United States or any other 
country.
On the military front in Afghanistan, he said, Al-Qaida has been routed and 
the Taliban regime overthrown.
However, he said, there are still small bands of armed men roaming the count
y with no intention to join or support the broad-based government there.
"We will continue to hunt down these men, who, although they cannot change t
he turn of events, are still dangerous."
Keith expressed thanks to Pakistan which continues to provide its unstinting
 support to the International Coalition in the fightagainst terrorism.
