Foreign ministers of the 15 EU member states held a meeting during the day i
n preparation for the summit meeting in Brussels.
They reaffirmed their commitment to the disarmament of Iraq and to the imple
mentation of the UN resolutions.
British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw said the ministerial discussions are "s
erious and constructive", saying that the ministers pledged to do what they 
could to secure the peaceful resolution of the Iraq issue.
The EU is widely divided on a looming US-led war against Iraq.
