As at 1 p.m. Sunday, an additional 46 patients have recovered from severe a
cute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and were discharged from the hospitals, acc
ording to the Department of Health and the Hospital Authority.
Up to now, a total of 409 patients have recovered from SARS.
On the other hand, an additional 22 patients, including four healthcare work
ers, were confirmed to have SARS.
Most of the patients currently in hospital are showing positive responses to
 the new treatment protocol, the Authority said, noting that 102 patients ar
e receiving treatment in intensive care unit.
Seven more patients died of SARS, which include three elderly patients who h
ave a history of chronic disease.
The remaining are three women and one man, aged between 35 and 47.
