　　TAIPEI, Jan. 26 (Xinhuanet) -- The Taiwanese China Airlines' charter pla
ne returned to Taipei's Taoyuan airport at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, ending a succes
sful round trip between Taipei and Shanghai.
　　More than 240 Taiwanese business people and their family members went ba
ck home aboard the plane, which took off early Sunday morning in Taipei and 
arrived in Shanghai at 8:52 a.m. via Hong Kong.
　　The plane left the Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 11:15 a.m. I
t marks the success of the first charter flight directly across the Taiwan S

HONG KONG, Jan. 26 (Xinhuanet) -- A Taiwanese China Airlines charter flight
 taking off from Shanghai's Pudong airport arrived at the Hong Kong Internat
ional Airport Sunday afternoon to make a stopover before going to Taiwan.
　　The charter flight, which is the first civil aviation flight between Tai
wan and the Chinese mainland since 1949, was required by the Taiwanese autho
rities to make stopovers in Hong Kong for 50 minutes to and from Shanghai.

　　The flight left Taipei at 3:55 a.m. Sunday and arrived at Shanghai at 9:
00 a.m. to carry Taiwanese businessmen back home for the traditional Chinese

　　SHANGHAI, Jan. 26 (Xinhuanet) -- The Taiwanese China Airlines charter pl
ane, which arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport two hours ag
o, left here at 11:15 a.m. Sunday for Taipei via Hong Kong.
　　More than 200 Taiwanese business people and their family members were on
 the plane, returning home for the traditional Chinese Spring Festival which
 falls on Feb. 1 this year.
　　A welcome ceremony was held in the airport after the plane's arrival. Of
ficials from Shanghai and the General Administration of Civil Aviation of Ch
ina (CAAC) attended the ceremony.
　　Wei Hsin-hsiung, general manager of the China Airlines, gave Shanghai of
ficials a plane model as a present and thanked local officials for their sup
port of the charter flight.
　　The plane is scheduled to return to Taipei at 3:40 p.m. Sunday again via
