Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji has held a symposium to hear opinions on the gove
rnment report to the first session of the tenth National People's Congress f
rom non-communist parties, leaders of the All China Federation of Industry a
nd Commerce, and non-party figures.
Attendees all say the report has made a complete and objective summary of th
e achievements made in the country over the past five years and experiences 
obtained by the government, adding that it also points out the difficulties 
and problems existing in the economy and society.
At the same time, they also made suggestions on enlarging domestic demand, m
aintaining stable and rapid economic growth, deepening economic reforms, exp
anding the opening up policy, perfecting work on reemployment and social sec
urity as well as transforming the functions of the government.
The Premier has pledged to adopt the suggestions.
Zhu Rongji has also been reported to have held symposiums to seek opinions f
rom representatives of enterprises, education, science and technology, cultu
re, sanitarian and sports sectors.
