Jiang Zemin stresses that it is important to consider all countries as equal
s in international relations. He says a country's sovereignty and territory 
should be fully respected as a pre-condition to world peace, while the maint
enance of the diversity of the world is crucial to protecting the balanced d
evelopment of human society. He also says the five principles of peaceful co
existence are an important basis in relations among countries, and there sho
uld be more talks and communication for better understanding and cooperation
.
Voronin expresses his appreciation of China's help in the development of Mol
dova. He says he's looking forward to more pragmatic Sino-Moldovian relation
s.
On the Iraq issue, the two leaders agree it should head for a political solu
tion within the UN framework. Iraq must implement UN resolutions strictly an
d thoroughly as the inspection continues.
The two leaders signed a joint communique after the meeting and attended the
 signing ceremony of four other documents.
