In order to prevent SARS, HIT called a special meeting on the preventive met
hods on the afternoon of April 15th.
Li Shanbin, Vice Chairman of HIT Director Board presided the meeting and Vic
e President Shi Guangji was present. The other attendants were the vice chai
rmen of all the Schools and Departments who were in charge of students affai
rs and the leaders of related Divisions and the Logistics Group. Vice Chairm
an Li Shanbin transmitted the gist of the documents about the prevention of 
SARS released by the Party Organization (CPC) of the Ministry of Education a
nd the Bureau of Education in Heilongjiang Province and he also talked about
 the seven suggestions about the prevention of SARS in HIT. Sun Xuemei, Pres
ident of HIT Hospital introduced the SARS cases in our country. Chen Shouqua
n, President Assistant and Head of the Logistics Group, and Sun Jing, Direct
or of Apartment Center, and Wang Xiulian, Director of Catering Center introd
uced their preventive methods and the work already done by the Logistics Gro
up in order to prevent SARS.  Vice President Shi Guangji required that all d
epartments must pay high attention to SARS with high political responsibilit
ies and take active measures to prevent the spread of SARS in the campus.
At the meeting, it’s suggested that all the staff and students take body-bu
ilding exercises in order to strengthen the muscles of the body, improve the
 immunity and resistibility, and do some cleaning in all the students’ apar
tments of HIT. And it’s also expected that all students reunion together to
 create a new and clean environment.
