  Sometimes I think we are very unlucky. 
  Why do we want to go to US? 
  I think it is mainly because US univ can offer the best education, esp. in 

science and technology. If we are truly a knowledge seeker, that is the best 

place. 
  But the road to US can be painful. 
  You must learn English very well. If you want to be successful , you must 
master it to the extent that you can think in English, speak English just 
spontaneously. 
  But what happens if we  are really able to think in English? 
  We will probably lose our native culture, native way of thinking. What is 
Chin 
ese 
tradition? What is the thing that is  really 'Made in China'? You and I must 

admit Chinese tradition is hardly found any more. 孔夫子 is not a spiritual 
leader any more. The government believe in Marxism.  Why should a great 
people 
 be constrained within a totally different thinking system from his past's? 
Why? 
 Because we are too behind.  My learning English is Far more than learning 
Chine 
 But what happens if we  are really able to think in English? 
  We will probably lose our native culture, native way of thinking. What is

  When in Tang Dynasty, no one wanted to know foreign language, for China is 

the best. No need to learn foreign language. 
  When can we Chinese stop learning English , at least may not treat English 

as so necessary a tool to study advanced science & tech?
