Human race is excellent at concentrating the whole wise and resource to
 deal with the emergency caused by the unwithstand nature calamity. Thi
s global fight on SARS in 2003' summer  incisively and vividly exhibite
d such character. But in a short time the total resource is limited in 
a specific area, so when a state of affairs comes to a macroscopical de
cision-making , the nation or parochial government have to choose a bal
ance between the short-term target or long-term goal.Someone said it wa
s more important to allocate money for immediate, existing social probl
ems than to spend it on long-term research that might help future gener
ations, but I felt the other way: Human beings should take into account
 both long-term interests and immediate need for the future behalf.
Naturally, each generation is most concerned about solving problems tha
t immediately confront them. What convulse us most is the nowadays affa
irs that influence our usual life and change our viewpoint on world. Th
e new hippy American youth was more concerned about the popular tide th
an the effect of past on this century. It would be better to ascribe th
is trend of  forgetting  the history to the humanity. The lack of atten
tion on past also led to the looseness of the future. Cynicism has its 
profound social background and often takes on the stigma of the times. 
Common individuals tends to care about the affair far from the times he
 lives. The over attention of immediate profit makes modernist seldom c
onsider the connection between the up-to-date and the future.
However, what differentiates human beings from other animals is that hu
mans have a sense of future and are morally responsible for the well-be
ing of their descendents. Human is superior to other animal by rational
ly planning his steps in exploring the nature and continuously moderate
 the way he reconstruct the world, and such behavior related with kinem
atics' and evolutive vision is help to avoid the eager for the quick su
ccess and instant benefit which maybe lead to the disaster. The moderni
zation western country is a living example. The early concentration of 
capital was at the cost of over-exploitation of mine resource and damag
e of nature balance. The sequence was the worsen of climate and the env
ironment.
As beneficiaries of previous generations, each generation should make i
ts own contributions for the well-being of future generations. The adag
e "Rome wasn't built in a day" accurately reveals the connotation of th
e continuity of history occurrence, we could not discuss an insular con
sequence regardless of the infection of process, the similar conclusion
 was also logical in the social course, each generation was the benefic
iaries of the previous generation. Without the first settlements' dilig
ence on the North-American continent, the nowadays union could not be p
resent
the flourish vision. The united state of American is the rime of the lo
ts of generations on this land.
Later generation inherited the trait and wisdom from the former. When w
e celebrated the success
of new high-tech and science , we should not forget that the progress a
gglomerates the continuous
endeavor of great-minds belongs to different epochs.
So the proper practice is to take the future into our determination of 
activity.
