  Maybe the forever goal of the human race in spite of times is forever 
itself. The whole nation needs some modes to continue its historical re
members and nation cohesion, the great affairs ever happened is taken i
nto document and became the undivided part of the country form. In the 
long historical river, before the new technology invention on the films
 and media’s recording, written records are the most important decumbe
nt reference to revert the history through out-of-oral narration. Such 
trend change companied with the invention of the video camera, the vide
o camera provides such an accurate and convincing record of contemporar
y life that it has become a more important form of documentation than w
ritten records. But in my views, video documentation can never take the
 place of written records.

  Admittedly, video documentation can be more vivid and direct than writt
en records. Compared with written records, video documentation is much 
less influenced by the one who took record and the one who interpret it
. Language itself is an abstraction from human life accumulated through
 thousands of years of culture life, which is always on the change. We 
can hardly understand the written documents of our ancestor from hundre
ds of years ago if we haven’t undergone specialized training. Even tho
se professionals who have learned to understand ancient literature and 
to transform it into forms acceptable of our contemporary culture, thou
gh avoiding all the time mis-interpretation or over-conjecture, are not
 able to assure us 100 percent sincerity to the original information ou
r ancestor inclined to convey. Video camera, which is an objective medi
a rather than a ambiguous conveyer, can record things as it is, accurat
ely. With the improvement of the quality and life time of video records
, our descendants will be able to see a lively revival of the life peri
od we live and record.

  However, limited by time and space, video documentation provides very l
imited information. The video record cannot completely substitute the t
raditional written form for the latter can provides more subjective com
ments and description which is more humane and more easily to express p
eople's thinking. Although when the documented tools controlled by kind
s of individuals always lead to the abundance of media and reflect the 
daily life pattern by different views through thousands of person’s ef
fort, the randomly electiveness on the documented object and the lack o
f professional training on recording trustily the affair that must be o
n the scene would be the most obstacle for a usual recorder operating t
he video camera. The hidden meaning behind the video media need the doc
ument acceptor have a profundity views to read the true mapping of hist
ory picture, since picture itself could not explain the event when exhi
bited as the truth of history.

   By contrast, written documentations can provide systematic and in-depth
 information about a historical subject. Historical event is exteriorly
 shown as a by-chance affair, but indeed a construct of complicated rea
sons. The function of the written recorder is to finger out the most im
portant cause leading the result, which will be on their duties of the 
collection and analyses of so many similar irrelevant events. The utili
zed of words with narration and interpretation is emphasizing the true 
history since written recorder could analyzed the sole events by a macr
oscopical views. The written or video form two each has the drawback on
 recording the history, but as the further development of the two and t
he combination of video and written form, the two are compatible and ca
n compliment each other as integrity. That is the way where the media s
hould follow by.
