Showing support
A small number of US allies backed the attack. The words "support", "ally" a
nd "participant" are especially important here for showing that they stand s
houlder-to-shoulder with the US. Examples:
"At this time ... I understand, and I support the start of the use of force 
by the United States." — Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, on Marc
h 20.
"Poland should remain consistently an ally of the United States and of other
 participants of the coalition" — Polish Prime Minister Leszek Miller, on M
arch 20.
