stigmata  ("stig-MAH-ta") n.
origin: from the Greek "stigma", meaning "tattoo mark",
        from the Greek "stizein", meaning "to prick"
1. Marks or sores corresponding to and resembling any of the the five
   crucifixion wounds of Jesus, said to appear spontaneously. *
    " Scully: Well then how do you explain the cuts on her own chest?

               herself or maybe it's some kind of weird stigmata.

   diagnostic sign of a disease.
