amount, number
        Amount refers to a quantity of something(a singular noun) that can not
        be counted. Number refers to countable items(a plural noun). The 
        amount of tax depends on the number of deduction.

an, and
        An is an article. And is a coordinating conjuction . Do not carelessly
        omit the d from and.

and, etc.
        Et cetera(etc.) means "and the rest"; and etc. therefore is redundant.
