令人作呕
"难看"、"难听"、"难闻"、"难吃"和"难受"的英译分别为displeasing
/unpleasant to the eye/ear/nose/tongue/body。
表示displeasing to the eye的形容词有ugly, hideous, ghastly,
homely, plain, unsightly等，例如：
1. What an ugly dog! 一条多么难看的狗！
2. He had a hideous face. 他脸长得丑。
3. He looked ghastly. 他样子真难看。
4. She is a homely girl, but she is kind-hearted.
她是个长相不好看的女孩，但她心眼好。
5.It's a pity that his wife is so plain.
真遗憾，她妻子长得那么不漂亮。
6.He had an unsightly mark on his face.
她脸上长了一棵难看的痣。
表示displeasing to the ear的形容词有unpleasant, hideous等，
例如：
1. Did you hear that unpleasant sound? 你听见那个难听的声音了吗？
2. What is that hideous noise? 那难听的噪音是怎么回事？
表示displeasing to the nose的形容词有disgusting,
1. The beer is tasteless. 这啤酒没味了。
2. The food is distasteful. 这食品没有味道。

4. The food is unappetizing. 这食物没有味道。
5. The beer tastes flat. 这啤酒没味了。

9. All food was repugnant to me during my illness.
在我生病期间，什么食物我都不想吃。
10. In cafeteria, we often have vapid food.
在自助餐厅，我们常吃没有味道的饭。
表示displeasing to the body的形容词有uncomfortable, 如：
He sat in an uncomfortable chair. 他坐在一把不舒服的椅子里。
上述词中有些表示displeasing to the feeling, 例如：
1. We don't want to see that disgusting man.
我们不想见那个讨厌的人。
2. His manner is rather repellent. 他的举止很讨厌。
