众口难调
汉语的"众口难调"，指做饭难以适合每个的口味，英译为：It is
difficult to cater for all tastes. 这个成语的喻意为：
难以使每个人满意，英译为：It is difficult to satisfy
everyone.
汉语的"五味"指酸（sour），甜（sweet），苦（bitter），辣
（pungent），咸（salty）。"五味俱全"泛指各种味道，英译为：
all sorts of flavours。英语表示味道的词还有：acid（酸），hot
（辣），peppery（辣）,salt (咸）,spicy/spiced（加香料的），
