人生几何
人活一辈子，经过婴儿期(infancy)，童年期(childhood)，
青春期(adolescence)，成年期(maturity，包括manhood和womanhood)，与老年期(old
age)五个阶段。
英语表示"婴儿"的词有baby和infant，例如：
1. She has a new baby; it came to the world yesterday.
她有个新婴儿，是昨天出生的。
2.  A special research team is performing experiments on
the completely blind infants. 一个特别研究小组正在对
全盲婴儿进行实验。
英语表示"儿童"的词有kid和child，例如：
1. The kids enjoy reading picture books.
这些孩子喜欢读图画书。
2. Children in Britain go to primary school at the age of
five. 英国儿童五岁上小学。
英语表示"青少年"的词除boy和girl以外，还有youngster, youth,
teenager, juvenile和adolescent,例如：
1. The book is popular with youngsters. 这本书很受青少年欢迎。
2. There were two youths standing at the street corner.
young/little baby (幼婴)，young/little child (幼童)，
young/little boy (小男孩)，young/little girl（小女孩），
young man (小伙子)。
英语表示"成年"的词，除man和woman以外，还有adult和grown-up,
例如：
1. The film is for adults only. 这部电影只让成年人看。
2. He's a grown-up now; let him decide his own future.
他现在是成年人了；让他决定自己的未来吧。
英语表示"老年"，常用old, aged, elderly, in years,
at a good old age等，例如：
1. The club is exclusively for old people.
这个俱乐部是专为老年人开设的。
2. He is very aged now; over ninety years old.
他现在年纪非常老了，九十多岁了。
3. My father is getting elderly now and can't walk very fast.
我父亲年纪越来越老，走路走不快了。
4. He is well advanced in years. 他年事已高。
5. He is at a good old age. 他年纪非常老了。
