   An agent that causes vomiting.

[Latin emetica, feminine of emeticus, provoking vomiting, from Greek
emetikos, from emetos, vomiting, from emein, to vomit.]

Corrigendum: In last Sunday's (May 28, 2000) citation for the word `pelf',
the word `concentred' was mistranscribed as `concentrate'. It should have
