brainstorm    
 
Definition: To think of new ideas, alone or in a group; to think hard 
about a solution to a problem. 
 
Example:  1) Dr. Einstein brainstormed until he found the solution to 
the problem. 
2) Let's brainstorm about how to solve global warming.
 
 
Etymology: A 'storm' involves heavy wind and rain, and when one's 
brain is working hard, it's like a storm of thought .
