Definition: Extremely alert or awake; nervous or agitated.
Example: 1) After drinking six cups of coffee, I was wired for the rest of the
night.
2) The bank robbers were wired on drugs.
Etymology: A 'wire' carries electricity. This slang word describes an intense
sensation people sometimes get, in which it feels like electricity is running
through your body.
Synonyms: hyper, jacked up
