goner
Definition: Someone who has died or is going to die soon; something that has
failed or is ruined.
Example: 1) Yoyodyne.com is a goner -- it hasn't made any money in over thre
e years.
2) Paul is going to try to swim across the Pacific Ocean. Man, he's a goner.
Etymology: 'Gone' (the past participle of 'go') refers to someone who has le
ft or is dead. When someone has died, you might say that they are 'gone.'
