Definition: One's father. 

Example: 1) My old man and I used to go on fishing trips every summer.  

Etymology: By definition, one's father is older than one's self. "Old man" is 
a crude but sweet way to refer to one's father.
 
Definition: One's husband or boyfriend. 

Example: 1) Her old man plays guitar in a Wayne Newton cover band.
