wear your heart on your sleeve
Definition: To make your true feelings and emotions known at all times;
to show your feelings publicly, without restraint.
Example: 1) Richard really wears his heart on his sleeve. Everyone can
tell he's in love with Sarah!
Etymology: Your heart is where your deepest emotions lie. If your
heart is 'on your sleeve', it is in the open for everyone to see. This
strange phrase comes from medieval Europe. When competing, knights would
wear a small button or flag with the name of the woman they loved on
their armor, thereby announcing their love and intentions to everyone.
