out of gas

Definition: Tired, exhausted, worn out.

Example: 1) I tried to finish the project, but I was out of gas.

Etymology: When a car runs out of gas, it can no longer move forward. So whe
n a person is 'out of gas', he is like a car that can no longer drive.

Synonyms: beat, pooped
