 fast lane

Definition: An exciting, glamorous lifestyle, filled with parties and fun; a
ny kind of accelerated, high-speed existence.

Example: 1) She moved to California, met a lot of actors and musicians, and 
lived life in the fast lane.
         2) Our company was in the fast lane for success until the recession 
started. 

Etymology: The idea is that life can be faster and more exciting (and more d
angerous), like a car that travels faster on the highway, thrilling its pass
engers with speed and daring.
