raise the roof

Definition: To have fun and make a lot of noise.

Example: 1) We're going to raise the roof on the first night of year 2003! :)

2) The band raised the roof with one great song after another.

Etymology: A 'roof' covers a house. Sometimes, usually at parties, you can m
ake so much noise that it seems like the roof is going to blow right off.
