A: Why are you so upset?
B: You see, I did this job as best I could.
A: Then you don't need to be upset.
B: But my boss just took it for granted. He didn't appreciate it. 
A: 你为什么这么苦恼？
B: 你是知道的，我全力以赴投入这件工作。
A: 既然如此你大可不必感到苦恼。
B: 可是我老板认为这是理所当然的事，一点也不重视！



重点解说：

★ "You see."一语带有“认为对方应该能明白自己所要表达的意思”的味道，如You 
see, there is no alternative.“你是知道的，根本别无选择。”

★ as best one can“竭尽全力”亦可说成as best as possible。

★ don't need to ~ = don't have to ~“没有……的必要”

★ take ~ for granted“视……为理所当然”此语用于表示认为某事是理所当然的，具
有不多加思索或不寻求证据的味道。I take it for granted that you have read 
this book.“我认为你当然读过这本书。”

★ appreciate“重视；赏识；感激”
