   thrift shops:

    You may guess the meaning from the words. Thrift shops are mostly

non-profit clothing stores operated by churches or charity groups.

Volunteers work in the shop without pay. Men's, women's and children's

clothes are donated by sympathetic members of the community. Thrify shop

customers are generally poor.
