(1).                        THE DEBAUCH

                Fill up day the sorrow-drugging bowl!

                What matter though we dromn the brighter soul?

                With wine o`ercome when all our fellows be,

                Can I alone sit in sobriety?

                        过 酒 家
                         
                         王 绩

               此 日 长 昏 饮，非 关 养 性 灵。
              
               眼 看 人 尽 醉，何 忍 独 为 醒？

  译评：    第二行What matter?=What does it matter?(但前matter是名词，
       后matter是动词）有什么关系？又何妨？此句译得不切。
          第三句倒装句法，不用are而用be，大有趁韵之嫌。
          原诗取屈原“众人皆醉而我独醒”之句，反其意而用之，仍是愤世嫉
      俗之意，译诗用Debauch（酗酒）作题，大谬。
