The Cassini-Huygens spacecraft on Sunday swung by Venus as it continued on its
six-year space journey to Saturn. The spacecraft used Venus' gravity to get a
26,280 kph (16,330 mph) boost, one of several such planetary-gravity slingshots
planned for the spacecraft. If all goes according to plan, it will travel some
2.2 billion miles over more than a decade, carrying 18 complex science
instruments and dispatching a probe to the surface of Titan, the largest of
Saturn's 18 known moons.
