Fuksas was born in 1944 in Rome. Graduationg in 1969 from the Rome
Academy of Architecture. After working in Italy for several years,
in the 1980's he opened his own studio in Paris. He also has studios 
in Rome and Vienna. For the past thirty years, he has designed a 
variety of porjects in every country. Additionally,he has taught
architecture in New York, Paris and Vienna.
       
Fuksas' architectural design is inspired by every kind of art and
architectural history. He believes that architecture, like other 
kinds of art, combines reason and everyday life while expressing 
the feelings of the heart. The interrelationship of architecture and
art has been one of the major trends in architectural design over
the past few years, "I believe that contemporary trend in architec-
tural design will increasingly approach sculpture." During the design
process, he often uses different methods to search for the design's
point of departure. Sometimes he draws, sometimes he makes collages,
or he may use strips of paper to create a small model. Fuksas' 
architectural projects, enable one to experience the perfect combina-
tion of art and architecture. The interrelationship of sculpture and 
architecture is especially close.
