The 9th International Conference on Control, Automation, Robotics and Vision,
ICARCV 2006, will be held in Singapore from 5 – 8 December 2006. The conferen
ce is organised by the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyan
g Technological University, Singapore and Institution of Engineers, Singapore.
ICARCV provides a forum for professionals, engineers, academics, educators and
researchers in control, automation and manufacturing to exchange up-to-date t
echnical knowledge and experiences. The conference focuses on both theory and
applications mainly covering the topics control, automation, robotics and visi
on. In addition to the technical sessions, there will be invited
sessions, tutorials and keynote addresses.
The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Control: Adaptive control; Robust control; Process control; Complex systems; I
dentification and estimation; Nonlinear systems; Intelligent systems; Discrete
event systems; Hybrid systems; Networked control systems; Delay systems; Neur
al networks; Fuzzy systems; Control of biological systems; Precision motion co
ntrol; Control applications; Control engineering education.
Automation: Man-machine interactions; Process automation; Intelligent automati
on; Factory modeling and simulation; Home, laboratory and service automation;
Network-based systems; Planning, scheduling and coordination; Nano-scale autom
ation and assembly; Instrumentation systems; Biomedical instrumentation and ap
plications.
Robotics: Modeling and identification; Robot control; Mobile robotics; Mobile
sensor networks; Perception systems; Micro robots and micro-manipulation; Visu
al servoing; Search, rescue and field robotics; Robot sensing and data fusion;
Localization, navigation and mapping; Dexterous manipulation; Medical robots
and bio-robotics; Human centered systems; Space and underwater robots; Tele-ro
botics; Mechanism design and applications.
Vision: Image/video analysis; Feature extraction, grouping and segmentation; S
cene analysis; Pattern recognition; Learning in vision; Human-computer interac
tion; Tracking and surveillance; Biometrics; Biomedical Image analysis; Activi
ty/behaviour recognition; Applications.
Paper Submission:
Papers must be written in English and should describe original work in detail.
Please submit full papers online http://www.icarcv.org by 1 April, 2006. All
submitted papers should be in the form of PDF (Portable document format) and a
re to be limited to a maximum length of 6 pages (A4 size, single space, Times
Roman of font size 10, two columns format), including figures, tables and refe
rences. A maximum of 2 additional pages will be permitted at an extra page cha
rge of S$100 per page. Upon acceptance, authors will be required to register a
nd present their papers. Papers will be published in the conference proceeding
s only if at least one of the authors is officially registered.
Invited Sessions:
The Technical Program Committee is soliciting proposals for invited sessions f
ocusing on topics of ICARCV 2006. Prospective organisers should submit proposa
ls to the Invited Session Chairman eericsung@ntu.edu.sg by 1 March, 2006. Invi
ted sessions are to provide a forum for focused discussions on new topics, or
innovative applications of established approaches.
