     Since the League began in 1898 the following clubs have won the title:
    24 - Juventus
    15 - Milan
    13 - Inter (including three as Ambrosiana-Inter)
     9 - Genoa
     7 - Torino (+1 title in 1927 revoked by Italian federation. The title 
         was not awarded), Pro Vercelli and Bologna
     2 - Fiorentina, Roma and Napoli
     1 - Casale, Novese, Cagliari, Lazio, Verona and Sampdoria. 

Notes - The soccer league was suspended due to war between 1916 and 1919 and 
        in 1944, when a wartime championship of upper Italy was won by the La 
        Spezia fire brigade.

The first Italian champions were Genoa, who won the title for the first three
seasons and six times in seven years.

In 1906 Juventus pulled out of a playoff final with Milan in protest at the 
game being held in Milan.

In 1908, only four teams took part with Milan, Torino and Genoa absent because
of a federation ruling restricting the championship to Italian players only.
