Lindsay Davenport on the run, reaching two match points.
But 70 minutes after the match was halted, Davenport came
out and beat Pierce to reach the semifinals. In the night
match, No. 7 Serena Williams upset No. 4 Monica Seles.

Agassi, Kafelnikov can't be stopped

Once Andre Agassi got into his groove, he never
looked back Wednesday, beating Nicolas Escude 7-6
(7-3), 6-3, 6-4 to reach the semifinals. He will face
Yevgeny Kafelnikov, who edged Richard Krajicek.
