What We Learnt from Grammar Researches Recently?

Abstract: The corpus investigation shows the following two facts: (1) PSG ru
les based on POS/PT labels are not sufficient for parsing, and (2) PSG rules
 have skew distribution in corpus, i.e. the number of PSG rules aren't limit
ed as expecting. The recent trends of grammar researches and Natural Languag
e Processing (NLP) technologies are both influenced by those facts. The spea
ker will introduce his observation on those issues, which includes multiple 
feature and unification based grammar formalisms, lexicalism in grammar rese
arch, statistical language modeling and corpus-based approaches, and lexical
 semantics, etc. According to the recent results, the bottle-neck of the dev
elopment of the NLP technology is still the problem of linguistic knowledge 
acquisition.

摘要: 近年的语料库调查揭示了以下两个重要事实:(1)基于词类和短语标记的语法规则
只是句法分析的必要条件,而不是充分条件;(2)短语规则在语料库中的分布严重扭曲,即
未曾发现短语规则的数目是有限的。这两个事实对语法研究和自然语言处理技术的走向
都产生了深刻的影响。报告人将简要介绍其中的一些动向，如复杂特征集和相应的合一
语法，语法研究中的词汇主义思想，统计语言模型和语料库方法，以及词汇语义学等。
从最近的研究成果来看，制约自然语言处理发展的瓶颈依然是语言知识的获取问题。
