Dear Zhang,
I am fine, my family is safe and fine. My campus is in a
state of chaos, though. People are scared, the telephone lines have
been too busy for many people to get in touch with their friends and
families who live in Washington DC and New York City. Thousands and
thousands of people, innocent civilians who did nothing but get up
and go to work today, are dead. Families are ripped apart. A nation
is in a state of trauma. Nothing like this has ever happened to
America. People in Israel and Palestine live in fear of terrorist
attacks every day, and I hope that this event makes Americans think
about that and pray for the people in other countries who experience
such tragedy often. This is possibly the largest tragedy ever to
happen to America. So many dead. And I am even more scared because I
think our president, George Bush, is a very UNintelligent man, I
think he is very stupid,  I never wanted him to be president, I think
he has no idea how to run this country, how to make sure that we
build strong friendships with other countries so that things like
this attack do not happen. I am scared that he will make the
situation worse. He's an idiot. If the terrorists  have a problem
with our government and the people who make decisions for our
country, they should deal with them, not kill thousands and thousands
of INNOCENT citizens who have NOTHING to do with what George Bush and
his cronies do. Most of them didn't even VOTE  for George Bush! My
friends have been crying all day. Many classes were cancelled. The
president of our university spoke to us tonight to try and calm so
much sadness and anger and confusion.
I am scared and sad for my classmates who will never see
their fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles and friends
ever again. I am sad that for many many days, maybe even weeks, they
will not know whether their family and friends are even alive because
they are buried at the bottom of these buildings.
I am confused and overwhelmed. I miss you and I love you and
I hope we can put more love in this world, more love and patience and
understanding, love across nations, across races and across peoples
from every country so that there can be no more killings, no more
bombings, no more attacks, no more wars. I do not want the human race
to kill itself.
