乔治·R·R·马丁(George R. R. Martin) 《群鸦之宴》(A Feast for Crows)
肯·麦克劳德(Ken MacLeod) 《领略世界》(Learning the World)
约翰·斯考茨(John Scalzi) 《老年人的战争》(Old Man’s War)
伊恩·麦克唐纳(Ian McDonald) 《小女神》(The Little Goddess)
鲍罗·巴茨伽卢皮(Paolo Bacigalupi) 《卡路里男人》(The Calorie Man)
(Howard Waldrop) 《The King of Where-I-Go》
迈克尔·A·布斯坦(Michael A. Burstein) 《远程呈现》(TelePresence)
彼得·S·毕格尔(Peter S. Beagle) 《双心》(Two Hearts)
Peter S. Beagle
迈克尔·A·布斯坦(Michael A. Burstein) 《75年》
(Margo Lanagan) 《Singing My Sister Down》

John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer [Not a Hugo]
K. J. Bishop (second year of eligibility)
Sarah Monette (second year of eligibility)
Chris Roberson (second year of eligibility)
Brandon Sanderson (first year of eligibility)
John Scalzi (first year of eligibility)
Steph Swainston (second year of eligibility)
First-time Hugo nominees this year are John Scalzi, Cory Doctorow, Peter S.
Beagle, Dominic Green, Margo Lanagan, Gary Westfahl, Gary K. Wolfe, Mike
Ashley, Sheila Williams, Stephan Martiniere, and John Hertz.
This year's special category for Best Interactive Video Game appeared on the
nominating ballot but was cancelled due to "lack of interest" -- presumably
too few nominations in the category to tabulate meaningful results for a
final ballot.
Two of this year's Best Novel nominees have previously won Hugos, Charles
Stross (last year for novella "The Concrete Jungle") and George R.R. Martin
(4 wins, most recently for novella "Blood of the Dragon" in 1997). Ken
MacLeod and Robert Charles Wilson have 2 and 4 previous nominations
respectively.
Of the Best Novella nominees, only Ian McDonald has never won a Hugo; he has
just one previous nomination, last year for novel River of Gods. James
Patrick Kelly has won 2 Hugos, both in the novelette category; Robert J.
Sawyer won for novel Hominids in 2003; Connie Willis has 8 Hugos out of a
total 21 previous nominations; and Kelly Link won the Hugo last year with her
first nomination, for novelette "The Faery Handbag".
None of the Best Novelette nominees has ever won a Hugo, and Cory Doctorow
and Peter S. Beagle are first-time nominees. Paolo Bacigalupi has 1 previous
nomination, in 2005; Howard Waldrop has 6 previous nominations, and Michael
A. Burstein 8.
Best Short Story nominee Mike Resnick has won 5 Hugos out of a total of 27
previous nominations, including last year in this category for "Travels with
My Cats". David D. Levine has 1 previous nomination; Dominic Green and Margo
Lanagan are first-time nominees.
Three of the Best Related Book nominees are first-time nominees: Mike Ashley,
Gary Westfahl, and Gary K. Wolfe. David Langford has been nominated in this
category twice before, without winning (though he has won many times in other
categories). Kate Wilhelm has 5 previous nominations in fiction categories,
and 1 win for novel Where Late the Sweet Birds Sang, but no previous
nonfiction nominations.
Sheila Williams is a first-time nominee in the Best Editor category; she took
over editorship last year of Asimov's SF Magazine from Gardner Dozois, who
for the first time since 1987 has not been nominated in this category (Dozois
won 15 times out of 19 consecutive nominations from 1987 to 2005). Ellen
Datlow has 12 previous nominations in this category, and has won twice, in
2002 and 2005. None of the other nominees has ever won a Hugo. David G.
Hartwell has 14 previous nominations in this category, and 31 nominations
overall, holding the record for most nominations by anyone who has not won a
Hugo. Stanley Schmidt has 27 previous nominations, including every year in
this category since 1980. Gordon Van Gelder has 14 previous nominations,
including every year in this category since 1998.
Stephan Martiniere is a first-time nominee in the Best Artist category. Of
the other nominees, Jim Burns has won previously in this category 3 times,
most recently in 2005, Bob Eggleton has won 8 times, most recently in 2001,
2003, and 2004, and Michael Whelan has won in the category 13 times, most
recently in 2000 and 2002. Donato Giancola has 7 previous nominations, every
year consecutively since 1999, and John Picacio has one previous nomination,
in 2005.
All the Best Semiprozine nominees are veterans; the newest, Emerald City, has
4 previous nominations, and won in 2004 in the Fanzine category. Ansible has
been nominated 14 times previously, and has won 5 times in the Fanzine
category, and once, last year, in the Semiprozine category. Locus has been
nominated in the amateur magazine, fanzine, or semiprozine categories every
year since 1970 with just one exception (1979), and has won 26 times. The New
York Review of Science Fiction has been nominated 17 times in this category,
every year consecutively since 1989, though it has never won.
Best Fanzine nominee Plokta was last year's winner, and has been nominated
every year since 1999. Mike Glyer's File 770 has been nominated 23 times
previously and won 5 times, most recently in 2001. Challenger has 6 previous
nominations, every year since 2000. Banana Wings and Chunga have each been
nominated once before, in 2005.
Best Fan Writer nominee David Langford has been nominated in this category
every year since 1979, and has won 19 times, including every year since 1989.
Claire Brialey has 2 previous nominations in this category, Cheryl Morgan 2,
and Steven H Silver 5. John Hertz is a first-time nominee this year.
Best Fan Artist nominee Steve Stiles has 5 previous nominations with no wins.
The other nominees have won previously in this category: Brad Foster 5 times,
most recently in 1994; Teddy Harvia 4 times, including 2001 and 2002; Sue
Mason twice, in 2003 and 2005; and Frank Wu once, in 2004.
